Majority of electricity in Slovakia is produced by nuclear power stations, followed by conventional power stations and hydro stations.
There are currently 4 reactors in use in Slovakia. Two of these are located in the power plant in Mochovce, another two are located in the Bohunice power plant. The launch of the fifth reactor is scheduled for September 2022.

Renewables consumption in Slovakia consisted in 2020 primarily of combustible renewables & waste, followed by hydropower. This trend is expected to continue in the following years. The average number of employees working in energy decreased in the last decade by 15.4%. Total revenues generated by the energy industry in Slovakia fluctuated between EUR 11bn and 14bn in the last decade.
