SigmaRoc, listed on the London Alternative Investment Market, specialises in quarrying and currently operates in the UK and continental Europe. Since listing, SigmaRoc has been strategically sourcing specialty materials such as granite and limestone and focusing on local production and use.

CRH, one of Europe's major building materials companies, moved its primary listing from London to New York in September to facilitate business in the U.S. Mergers and acquisitions are a key part of the company's growth strategy, which has already grown significantly through various transactions in the past. Notably, in 2015 it acquired cement assets worth €6.5 billion from Holcim and Lafarge in their merger.

The transaction is structured in three phases, with the first phase expected to be completed in early 2024, and includes CRH's lime operations in Germany, the Czech Republic and Ireland. Further phases including operations in the UK and Poland are expected to be completed by the end of 2024.
