Czech group EAG has completed the acquisition of InstaMotion, a leading German online platform for the sale of used cars. The acquisition will strengthen Carvago's presence in Germany, Austria and Switzerland.

According to the press release, while InstaMotion's business model is similar to Carvago's, there are significant differences. InstaMotion uses a different vehicle search strategy, relies less on data and performs less thorough vehicle inspections compared to Carvago's CarAudit service. However, the company is established in the German market, where it is very difficult to succeed, especially in the automotive sector. InstaMotion offers a wide selection of vetted used cars exclusively online with financing, insurance and home delivery options. The platform aims to become the largest online used car dealer in the DACH region.

EAG Group, founded in 2018 by Jakub Šulta, Pavel Svoren and Petr Kratochvíl, specialises in digital services in the automotive sector. Operating under various brands such as Omnetic, Carvago and CarsData, the group offers comprehensive solutions covering the entire vehicle lifecycle, from vehicle selection and financing to sales, through software and analytics products.
