UK-based Sona Asset Management has acquired a 49% minority stake in the Polish property portfolio of CPI Property Group (CPIPG) for EUR 250 million.
This portfolio, CPI PIF, includes 11 office properties in Warsaw and two retail assets in Elblag and Lublin, Poland. CPIPG will retain full operational control. This transaction is part of CPIPG's broader asset sale strategy, which was launched in 2022 and has already seen more than EUR 2.3 billion of sales. CPIPG plans to continue selling minority stakes in its companies to further reduce debt. The Group is currently in discussions with international investors in Poland, Germany and Italy for potential transactions worth up to EUR 800 million.
CPIPG announced in its May quarter results that it has to repay EUR 184 million by the end of this year. In 2025, it is due to repay EUR 401 million.
