Czech fund Genesis Capital buys Polish company XBS Logistics

Czech PE fund Genesis and Polish investment company Value4Capital have teamed up to agree a preliminary deal to acquire XBS Group, a major player in the smart logistics sector in Poland. XBS Group, which boasts 250 employees, has a turnover of EUR 20 million and an operating EBITDA of approximately EUR 3 million (converted to CZK 70 million). The sale price was not disclosed.

XBS Logistics was originally founded as the Polish subsidiary of Staci, a leading European specialty transportation company with a turnover in excess of EUR 350 million, owned by the US private equity fund Ardian. XBS Logistics operates six state-of-the-art warehouses covering over 60,000 sqm in locations in and around Warsaw. In addition to transportation, XBS can efficiently monitor companies' inventory levels through its own information system, which then allows it to order goods from suppliers and replenish inventory levels.

Genesis Capital is a private equity firm that provides growth and development financing to small and medium-sized enterprises in Central Europe. The company was founded in 1999 and currently invests in companies in various sectors, including TES Vsetín, Hecht Motors, Borcad, HP Tronic/Datart, Sanborn and others.

Value4Capital is a private equity firm that focuses on investing in service-oriented businesses located primarily in Poland and other EU member states in Central Europe, particularly Romania.
